Math with Ms. Allen Rm 129
I have had the pleasure of teaching Math at WCHS for the last 8 years and have taught the majority of the courses offered in this building. I have been teaching math for 20 years a variety of settings. I am excited for the 2020/21 school year and look forward to working with you in our new setting!
All classroom information, is now being posted in Google Classroom. If you are a parent wanting access, just shoot me an email, otherwise you can check things out through your student.
Tips and tricks to survive MATH
It is really important to attend regularly and participate in your math class. Missing material only makes it more difficult on you and your ability to be successful. Practicing regularly, participating in class, doing homework, and asking questions will make the journey more successful than not.
Two websites that I would suggest looking at are:
www.exambank.com
username and password - available in my classroom
useful to grades 10-12
http://questaplus.alberta.ca
for diploma courses only
The Khan Academy also offers a variety of video tutorials that may assist you in topics missed or the need further explanation on specific topics.
I have also set up usernames and passwords for students to log into IXL Math, there is a link in the student section of our website, it is organized by grade and then by topic, I would consider this as the "drill and kill" practice that we have seen in the past. If you have lost your username or password, just ask me and I can give it to you! Use this as extra practice or as prep for exams and quizzes.
Lastly, if extra practice is what you need and worksheets are your friend, just ask I am sure I can find something to help you out!
Feel free to stop by or email me if you have any questions.
